We’ve Raised £570,000 to Help Revolutionise Offshore Construction and Maintenance

  • Backed by sector-specific investor, InsurTech Gateway, leaders in the Insurtech investment sector
  • Logistic decisions based on inaccurate weather window estimates cost millions per year, and stop vessels reaching their destination
  • NeuWave solves this through transformative accuracy for offshore environmental assessments, with data that’s 10x more accurate, and 60x higher resolution than the industry standard
  • Headed by Jana Stella, Lucas Martin, and Chris Wright; backed by their unique combined expertise in Oceanography, Deep Learning, and Systems Development

Having recently closed our pre-seed funding round, and successfully raised £570,000, we’re finally set to launch the first WAVE tool on the 2nd of September.

Endorsed by InsurTech Gateway (insurance and de-risk leaders), tech-focused VC firm EHE, XTX Markets, and top SEIS fund QVentures, we’re a Manchester-based startup expecting to make waves with high-precision environmental forecasting tools.

Brian Hatton, Venture Partner at QVentures, said: “[NeuWave is] building something special, using AI and ML to completely change how ocean vessels help install and maintain clean energy projects like wind farms.”

Inaccurate weather window estimates keep vessels at port every day, and this costs shipping, O&M, and other offshore industries millions of pounds per year. NeuWave delivers weather window data that is up to 10x more accurate and 60x higher resolution than current industry leaders. Proven to help cut vessel downtime by up to 38%.

Confident routing and dynamic rerouting features, checked against 50+ local datasets for the highest accuracy. Our Wave Adaptive Vessel Efficiency (WAVE) tools empower real-time decisions using hard science, getting vessels safely from A to B with live forecast validation and route enhancements that can be made in seconds.

Offshore industries suffer constant setbacks, from fuel costs and limited port space, to vessel shortages and climate change. But our nearshore wave models operate at 500m grid resolution, allowing for weather-sensitive routing that considers unique, project-specific requirements.

Better environmental data unlocks a deeper understanding of local conditions, meaning ships can sail safely, fuel is used efficiently, and project timelines stay intact. NeuWave founder Jana Stella says, “we’re here to help ensure the success of offshore construction and maintenance, even through uncertain conditions.”

By the end of 2025 we’ll have completed 5 expansive trials with multinational companies, proving how our deep learning analysis and high-resolution data can de-risk decision making (and save money) in offshore development and operations.

Results from already completed trials demonstrate an ability to simulate wave heights to a standard error of less than 1cm, smashing all existing industry standards.

With financial modelling and support from influential VCs, the NeuWave team have honed the sales pipeline with a successful pre-seed funding round, and are preparing to launch the first WAVEfinder tools at the start of September.

Looking ahead, NeuWave is also preparing to expand the team over the next 18 months. Plans are already in place to bring on two new hires in sales to accelerate industry adoption, alongside two additional specialists focused on building AI-driven features that seamlessly integrate with the company’s existing product suite.

This strategic growth will strengthen both customer reach and product innovation, ensuring NeuWave continues to set the pace in offshore technology. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!

It’s no secret that precise offshore wave data is essential to planning, executing and maintaining offshore projects. NeuWave is the new independent source for validated wave data designed to act as a single point of reference throughout an offshore asset’s lifecycle.

For planning and retrospective insurance claims, NeuWave powers weather window analysis and site characterisation reports designed for insurance underwriters, loss adjusters, marine warranty surveyors, and asset developers.

To execute an offshore project, NeuWave provides interactive daily go/no-go decision tools for vessel coordinators, captains and asset managers. Site-specific wave data is also available via API to model hardware performance for consultancies and engineering firms.
