Managing vessels and shipyards in offshore environments is a colossal task. Teams face unpredictable weather, changing climates, aging assets, regulatory hurdles, and complex logistics. All of which can stall operations and inflate costs.
At NeuWave, we’re bringing clarity to this chaos. Using high-resolution environmental intelligence models, we provide actionable insights into wave, wind, and tidal conditions; past, present, and future.
From optimising port scheduling to validating sea trials, our tools empower teams to plan with confidence.

Let’s dive in!

Hard science for action-based outcomes
NeuWave’s physics-based models have been developed in-house, and they’re fine tuned with high-resolution data to provide accessible, actionable insights into environmental conditions.
Our data is 60x more accurate than any existing comparable service, offering clearer information for confident decision making and robust offshore planning – even months in advance. Higher resolutions mean localised reliability; our models can render marine data at up to 500m resolution.
The climate is inevitably changing, but by combining hindcast data (up to 30 years) with live buoy and satellite feeds, NeuWave models are able to analyse site conditions, and predict future patterns and potential problems.
Understanding NeuWave solutions
Offshore operations are by nature, challenging. Developers, coordinators, and captains must constantly consider the environmental conditions at their site (and often en-route or reschedule when things don’t go to plan). That means each project has a unique reality, dictated by longstanding patterns and complicated by an actively changing climate.
Our port and vessel products are designed with this complexity in mind. The cutting-edge nearshore optimisation offered by 500m resolution models allows unprecedented insight into shallow water sites, where precision matters the most.
All NeuWave WAVEfinder dashboards can be tailored to individual development needs, so get in touch with the team to discuss your project specifications.
For now, let’s take a look at how NeuWave is already digitising and automating shipyard workflows, and saving money for developers.
1. Port and vessel management
We’ve been around the world speaking with the experts, and they’ve all agreed that futuristic port management requires complex data made accessible and actionable.
Vessel shortages, bloated fuel prices, tightening regulation, and ever-increasing demand for the supply of goods and energy. Port management represents a significant bottleneck in the global offshore ecosystem, as ports have slim margins and strict limits on the movement of ships throughout.
Clear shelter zones and weather windows give way to smoother undocking and vessel change-overs.
It’s not just low quality data that haunts offshore operations. Data is often fragmented and unreliable, as well. NeuWave port and vessel management solutions (via our WAVEfinder models) are built on powerful environmental intelligence, designed to be accessible for all stakeholders.
- Waiting zones and private AIS tracking (coming soon) for streamlined port scheduling
- Optimised shelter zones to improve overall safety of fleets
- Predictive maintenance for vessels and marine equipment
- Transparent data via intuitive, no-code dashboards
Bring together all project contributors – including multiple ports, vessels, crew, or developers – to clearly visualise weather windows and plan realistic, robust operations.
Compare vessel performances, navigation optimisation, and define safe-to-work areas instantly (or plan in advance). Hindcast data combined with live buoy and satellite feeds are used to generate precise site simulation models, and de-risk offshore operations.
Reliable foresight for dynamic offshore logistics…
NeuWave’s environmental intelligence tools are tailor-made to de-risk projects and offer offshore teams the clarity they need to operate smarter across every stage of a project.

2. Sea trial validation
Before any vessel enters service, operators need certainty (not estimates) about the conditions it was tested in, and the conditions it will face next time it leaves the port. All vessels must pass a relevant number of sea trials before entering service. For cargo ships, this is usually around 2-3; and for navy ships, it can be anywhere in the range of 7-10 sea trials.
Most offshore service vessels will require at least 5 sea trials, which may seem high next to huge navy and cargo ships. But it’s important to remember that these are relatively small boats, being hit by comparatively big waves.
NeuWave’s sea trial validation tools deliver trusted, verifiable environmental intelligence built on high-resolution wave, wind, and tidal data for any route, on any day, past or future.
- Validate conditions for past sea trials
- Predict future weather windows for optimal conditions
Our models combine 30 years of hindcast records with real-time buoy and satellite feeds to reconstruct precise conditions for previous trials. That means no gaps and no approximations. With a few clicks, teams can validate whether a vessel was truly tested within its operational envelope and confirm full regulatory compliance.
Build an auditable environmental record that stands up to scrutiny from insurers, port authorities, and stakeholders.
Instead of hoping for a weather window, operators can explore simulated conditions across multiple dates and routes, compare risk profiles, and choose the most viable testing day. Forecasts are paired with real-time insight, giving teams a dynamic understanding of how conditions are shifting hour by hour.
So, what do our users think?
Sea trial validation is one of the clearest examples of where the industry is ready for change right now. The technology exists; the challenge is cultural, and many teams still rely on traditional logs and radio calls.
By linking vessel movements (via AIS) with high-resolution environmental models, port authorities can validate operations with a level of clarity the sector has simply never had before.
Sea trials are no longer isolated events. With NeuWave, they become part of a continuous intelligence loop: verifiable, comparable, independently validated, and fully integrated into wider port and fleet workflows.
Work with (not against) mother nature…
Our environmental intelligence systems translate complex conditions into practical, verifiable intelligence. NeuWave tools are already supporting offshore teams facing changing weather windows and rising operational demands.
Offshore operations demand certainty in a world of change. NeuWave delivers that certainty, turning complex environmental data into practical intelligence which project teams can trust. By combining historical data and live feeds models, operators can optimise vessel performance, validate trials, and plan for safe, efficient operations. Free your team from guesswork and de-risk your offshore operations.
Every change in the tides is now part of your actionable intelligence loop.
