Back in October, NeuWave attended the Venture Cafe startup event in Manchester. And as a chance to connect with other exciting startups and likeminded innovators, it was highly anticipated (and didn’t disappoint!)
Our team brought along boards and demos. But more importantly, what did they bring back?
Let’s dive in.

What’s on the menu at the Venture Cafe?
Connection and engagement build ecosystems and enable innovation. That’s at the heart of Venture Cafe’s ethos, and we couldn’t agree more. The goal is to build networks of innovation through their events.
The event in October featured a pitch workshop, seminars, and collaborative discussion on startups and tech. With an informed focus on science, AI, and inclusivity, the NeuWave team were honoured and excited to be invited to attend the first VC event held here in our hometown of Manchester.
Bringing like-minded innovators under one roof
But not just any roof, either. The Sister Hub is NeuWave’s home. Being one of the first companies in the hub, we were extremely proud hosts. And if you were in attendance, we hope you loved the place as much as we do!
There was a diverse mix of attendees, from students and startups, to investors and venture capitalists. The event was a showcase of innovation – local, national, and international. Everyone brought a bit of their own perspective, and we had some enlightening conversations with everyone who stopped at the NeuWave booth.
The NeuWave booth
If you made it down to the event, you probably noticed the NeuWave booth and our flagship product dashboard on display.

The team met so many exciting minds and successful innovators, and we’d like to thank anyone that stopped by for a chat. Loads of our favourite topics came up: AI, tech, satellites, startups, and sustainability.
But some of the most inspiring conversations we had were with the students who were in attendance, interested in coding, AI, and how NeuWave has broken into the scene as a startup founded at a university.
This has given us a chance to reflect on where we as a company (and individuals) have come from, where we are, and where we are heading to next.
What did we bring back from the Venture Cafe event?
So, while the NeuWave team arrived with boards and demos, what we brought back was far more valuable – fortified sense of purpose, a wealth of inspiration and a plethora of potential new partnerships. The appetite for practical, intelligence-driven solutions in climate, data, and infrastructure is clearly growing.
Conversations with founders, researchers, and investors reinforced that teams across the ecosystem are wrestling with the same challenges we’re tackling. Fragmented data, slow decision cycles, and the gap between environmental risk and operational planning.
We connected with a mix of attendees, from investors and venture capitalists to local innovators. But speaking with students was grounding, and their curiosity reminded us why we’re building NeuWave in the first place: to make advanced environmental intelligence accessible, actionable, and genuinely useful.
Their questions pushed us to reflect on our journey from university idea to scaling platform, and on the responsibility that comes with shaping a new category of offshore decision-support. While also extending as much of our expertise and knowledge to those around us as possible, improving accessibility for all into any aspect of the space.
We left the event energised, clearer on what the industry needs next, and even more committed to building tools that move offshore development forward with confidence, clarity, and smarter data at the core.
